Step inside the characteristic long-façade farmhouse from 1859, the building where the museum once started. This was once a modest barn, where people and animals lived under one roof. Much has been renovated over the years, but the atmosphere of the past is still palpable.
When you tour the farm, it seems as if the former residents could walk in at any moment. Almost all family life took place in the cozy old-fashioned kitchen. The “best” room with box bed exudes nostalgia, as does the attic room and the cellar full of preserving supplies. Outside you can see the water well and in the stable you can experience how people used to live in one room with the animals. It was a simple time, often with few resources, but homeliness and coziness prevailed. Come in and experience it yourself!
