Discover the stories and traditions of the past at De Locht!
Join our village children Sefke and Doortje on a journey of discovery through our village of the past and experience how people lived in the countryside, what games were played, what clothes the children wore and what they ate.

Regularly special activities are being organised for children. Check our activity calendar, follow us on social media or subscribe to our newsletter.

Children’s paradise
The children’s paradise is the perfect place for children. There is a dressing-up box with nice old-fashioned clothes. You can wear anything. Feel free to put on a cap or hat and don’t forget to take a photo. Take a seat in the school benches of the past and discover what a classroom used to look like. Play the games of the past in the games room or set the mini funfair in motion with the push of a button. All parts are made from waste. Do you recognize anything?
How do mushrooms, tomatoes and cucumbers grow?
Can you really grow lettuce on water? Why is asparagus white and how does that come about? In our museum you will discover everything that is needed to grow these crops. Visit the greenhouses, the mushroom pavilion and the asparagus and auction building. That is not only fun, but also educational!

Medieval farm
Visit the medieval farm and discover how farm life took place here. From April to October, the residents are regularly at home on Wednesdays. They are happy to tell you about life back then. Often you can also try something yourself, for example making candles or writing with a quill.
Playing outside
Do you still have energy left? Then come and play in our inclusive playground, where children with and without disabilities can play together. In our museum village there is entertainment for young and old.
