  • Kind vol avontuur vindt oude sok

    LochtKids: “Full of adventure!”

In keeping with this year’s Children’s Book Week theme, “Full of Adventure,” we’re organizing a fun activity during the fall break. Your adventure begins with an exciting scavenger hunt through Museum Village de Locht. Find the old sock with the savings, and much more.

Simply follow the directions in the scavenger hunt booklet you receive at the checkout upon arrival. Solve the puzzles and complete the craft activities; they change every day. For each completed activity, you’ll receive a letter, which you can enter on the last page. It’ll keep you busy for several hours.

Who is it for? For primary school-aged children. When? From Tuesday, October 14th to Thursday, October 16th. The scavenger hunt and activities run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There’s a break for volunteers from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The scavenger hunt will continue as usual, but there will be no craft activities during this time.

A super fun activity for kids during the fall break! Come and join us!

  • Taste the mushroom!

Come and sample mushrooms at Museum village de Locht. Besides button mushrooms, we’ll introduce you to other, lesser-known edible mushrooms. What do they look like? Do they taste raw? Come and sample them at “Steeltje,” the restaurant in the Mushroom Pavilion. There, we’ll show you all sorts of mushrooms and tell you all about their cultivation, growth, and soil.

It’s fascinating to see how a product you so often buy in the supermarket grows. There’s much more to do today. Children can pick mushrooms. Buy mushrooms at the auction clock. Listen to the cheerful accordion music of Jac Cuijpers. Enjoy our homemade mushroom soup or the “Burgundian mushrooms” at the restaurant “de Hoeve.”

Mushrooms can be used in countless dishes. They’re playing an increasingly important role as a meat substitute. But their production also serves other purposes, such as making medicine. The mycelium, the network of threads underground, is even used as an alternative to animal leather! A coffin is also a possibility.

Mushrooms played an important role in the area. Many residents earned their living from mushroom cultivation. Knowledge centers for research and education were located here. You can find everything about mushroom cultivation and processing in the Mushroom Pavilion on the museum grounds.

Come to De Locht on October 19th. It’s fun, informative, and educational.

  • LochtKids: Autumn crafts

Are you coming to Museum village de Locht for some fun crafting on October 19th? This time, the craft activity is all about autumn. We’re going to make a colorful pumpkin out of paper. Cut, fold, and glue. We’ll use orange paper strips and green paper for the leaves.

A few more twigs for the stem. This is how we’ll make our own Halloween decoration. Use your imagination. Perhaps you’d like to decorate the pumpkin a little bit? We have plenty of supplies on hand. Having trouble? Our volunteers are ready to help.

Make something beautiful out of it!

  • Jac Cuijpers

This afternoon Jac Cuijpers plays on his accordeon.

  • Combo 4You Meerlo

    Ensemble 4You Meerlo

The quartet consists of 3 wind instruments and a double bass. They play with an orchestra band. The repertoire is called “Unterhaltungsmusik”, in most cases of German origin; but they also play pop music. The audience appreciates the music as cheerful music that makes one happy.

  • 2 dames 1 piano

    2 women 1 piano

By special request, Miriam Wijnen and Oksana Bos-Baljva will once again perform a chapel concert. This is two women, one piano. They will play a varied classical repertoire, supplemented with various cabaret styles and occasionally Limburg dialect. Miriam, with her theater background, will be the driving force behind a delightful concert, complemented by the virtuoso Oksana on the piano.

  • Air

Vocal ensemble Air consists of eight women from all over Limburg, accompanied by pianist Marcel Kuepers. They sing a light classical repertoire with a nod to close harmony music. The ensemble is led by the inspiring vocalist Ria Janssen.

  • Luuk Lenders

Luuk Lenders is known for his creative folk music featuring Irish whistles, ocarinas, accordion, foot percussion, table bells, and ping-pong balls. Sometimes he even plays three or four instruments simultaneously! When this musical jack-of-all-trades takes the stage, he transports the audience to a whirlwind of creativity, humor, and beautiful music. A colorful mix of folk music from Ireland and the Netherlands, among other places, combined with his own instrumental compositions.

  • Munttrio met Ria Janssen

    Munttrio

The Munt Trio, consisting of Mariska Rijk (violin), Katrien Heerkens (flute), and Marcel Kuepers (piano), ranges in music from Baroque to Classical, through Romantic to more modern works. They are complemented by Ria Janssen on vocals. Prepare to be amazed by classical music.

  • Miller

Six musicians find their own place in the band, each in their own way. Acoustic guitars, keyboards, dobro, accordion, mandolin, drums, and double bass create a warm atmosphere under the clear vocals. Acoustic songs; sometimes with folk influences and sometimes with a true Americana feel.
