The fire flares up, the heavy hammer clatters on the anvil and the red-hot iron is expertly shaped. Forging is one of the oldest crafts, but has almost disappeared these days – only the farrier still has a place in modern times thanks to the riding horse. In the museum village of De Locht, the forge regularly comes to life on Sundays. In addition, we organize the annual Forging Day, where blacksmiths from the area come together to show their craftsmanship. An impressive spectacle of power, fire and tradition.
