The establishment of cooperative butter factories meant enormous progress for farmers. By joining forces, they could negotiate a better price, ensure stable sales and arrange the processing of milk into dairy products themselves. The success was not limited to butter; cooperative milk and cheese factories soon followed.
What once started in a simple shed – as can be seen here – grew, after many mergers, into the Friesland Campina we all know today. An impressive example of how collaboration changed the agricultural world!
