Our gardens are an oasis of greenery and history. Walk, discover and experience how plants and crops have been grown and used over the centuries. Our volunteers garden in different ways; As our ancestors did, but also organically, without chemicals and fertilizers, to reduce the impact on the environment. While walking through the museum village of De Locht you will come across the following gardens:
- ornamental and rose gardens
- an insect hotel and insect garden
- herb garden
- various vegetable gardens
- Medieval vegetable garden
- fifties and seventies vegetable garden
- Contemporary vegetable garden
- Organic vegetable garden
- Organic asparagus.
- A section with small fruits, berries and blackberries
- Small plots with agricultural products such as flax, beets, potatoes, maize, various grains and green manures, such as fibre hemp, borage and marigolds.
- Scattered here and there are fruit and nut trees.
The various gardens are constantly changing and thus bring our museum village to life.
