Mission
Open Air Museum De Locht researches, documents and tells the story of human development on the barren sandy soils in North Limburg in the search for food, clothing and shelter.
Vision
By sharing and experiencing knowledge and stories from the past, we help to explain the present and inspire choices for tomorrow!
Ambitions
We want to convey our stories from the past in an appealing way to young and old and in this way contribute to current choices. Our ambitions:
- We tell a complete and inclusive story: the audience experiences the story from the perspective of the various people involved.
- Our story matters: that’s why we want to pass on our story to the younger generation
- Museum without borders: the story we tell takes place in the region! That’s why we tell the story there too!
- Sustainability starts with you: Sustainability plays an important role in the search for food, clothing and shelter! You will notice this in our museum!
Our ambitions are further elaborated in the Business Plan 2023-2025. This plan is in continuous development and forms the basis for many inspiring discussions.
