Activities

  • Dieren op lentedierendag

    Spring animal day

Do you love animals too? Then come to Museum Village de Locht on Sunday, May 3rd. We will have lots of animals visiting. They will really make you happy. Look, cuddle, and learn. You can pick them up, hold them, cuddle them, and pet them. There are small stuffed animals and reptiles. Do you dare to hold a snake? Let’s see!

The snakes, turtles, and lizards are used to it; they are fine with it. The handlers share fun facts about these animals, their behavior, and the best way to interact with them. Pick them up and hold them; they are very sweet. Just like all the other animals with us today: dogs, rabbits, tame rats, a guinea pig, and a golden hamster.

And… there are also plenty of other activities. Baking dog biscuits in the Bakehouse, crafting an animal-shaped cookie tin, making a nameplate with the blacksmith, creating an animal image with the printer, weaving along with the basket maker, and drawing with the schoolmaster. There is a beekeeper who can tell you everything about the life of bees. The auction clock is ticking and there is music.

You’re sure to have fun! Cuddling, learning, and doing.

The name of the band is, how could it be otherwise, the same as the name of many pubs in Ireland. And the band’s motto is just as appropriate: “A song to a beer”.

Since its inception, The Nag’s Head has been playing cozy pub songs, melancholic traditionals, world-famous folk songs, moving ballads and the instrumental songs are not forgotten.

  • mok bloem

    Mug pimping

Children love crafting; it stimulates their imagination. Painting, gluing, coloring, cutting, working with a glue gun—it is all possible and allowed with us. At home, children often do not have the opportunity to be creative. They lack materials, are not allowed to make a mess, or their parents do not have time to supervise them.

Among our volunteers is an enthusiastic group that regularly organizes a crafting activity on Sunday afternoons. Time and again, they come up with a special craft project, usually made from waste materials such as glass jars, empty tins, or old mugs. In any case, they make as much use as possible of natural and leftover materials, just as was customary in the past.

En wat kunnen kinderen leuke dingen maken! Ze zijn zo trots op het resultaat, een mooi aandenken aan een dagje Museumdorp de Locht.

But always with Pepper and Salt… and their own unique twist. All this ensures that this band from Heythuysen in Central Limburg has become a welcome guest at brass band festivals, but also certainly on a terrace for a pleasant musical afternoon.
